Finished the install on the ute, looks great for now, pretty much can't tell that they are in there untill you fold the seats down and look. but the front stage is crap so its holding the overall sound back. Sounds good, but no where near as loud as it can be, boston splits are definately gonna be the next thing to go in.

Vibrate, do you recommend Boston Splits?

kwaussiekid, The reason i am going for the bostons is i've heard em in falcons before and they sound magic even without an amp, but really man its personal prefrence. i've always bought my products by wat i find sounds best and not what others think. I'm not one for lots of treble but i know the bostons can take a fair whack punishment witout blowing em, which is my main concern, since i flog the hell outta my system. Have a listen to a few and make ure own decision, but don't expect to get what you hear on a board in a shop to sound like wat it sounds in your car. Enclosed spaces make a huge difference.

Vibrate,Thanks very much.I love treble up front,so I am after a good set up.Other people's opinions are worth listening to. Even Pyroay suggests like you, to audition them in the shop or car if possible.I intend amplifying the splits, along with the JBL 6" two ways in the front.Currently I run 4" doors off the HU.

Im impressed with the overall finish, you have managed to keep it looking stock and hidden. Nice choice in subs too, i have a single 10" dual v/c in my sedan. I like the performance of JL equipment, i went with the JL TR 6.5" splits in the front and like the crisp tops and clear mids. There are some pics in my gallery but again nice work Vibrate.

very nice and tidy - which for a ute is best so you can still get a little bit of stuff behind the seats!!

Woo hoo ... I have a similar setup in my AU ute ... although mine isn't moulded in as well as yours ... I have 2 seperate enclosures just sitting there ... but they don't move ... due to the fact there is no room for them to move.

Now your only problem will be stopping your internal rear vision mirror from vibrating loudly.

Which model JLs are you running .... I am running some old 12W0s that I have had for a long time and they still take a decent pounding.

Its the same gear outta my explorer, 2 x JLW3D4 run by 2 x Alpine MRD-M500. yeah the mirror is pissing me off already, and i don't even have full volume outta the damn thing yet. was gonna try some bluetac to fill the gaps.

Yeah it was done by chad at the alpine shop in soothers in narre warren shopping center. i've known him for a few years and hes the best installer in my opinion. gives me straight up opinions and no s**t.
