I'm using 6mm MDF for mine. I added a cross brace of more 6mm offcuts to strenthen it. It holds more than enough. It's currently got my spare wheel (full 19" alloy + tyre) sitting on it.

hey joolz! ya right about the amps I'm running 2x 4channels,had them in for 6 years now and not 1 problem! there not a high wattage amp,but a high quality amp good for sq setup, thats what I was after when I started my setup, I wasn't after loud bass! just clear quality music.but my subs do pump hard!

wow dude...that's a lot of weight in the boot

I am currently using 8mm boards...got a 3500mm (yes 3.5m) x 900mm for 10 bux =D bargain.

Just another question...how did you hold it down onto the boot? did you have a frame for it on the bottom or did you somehow glued it straight onto the metal?

alot of weight yes! but I can remove it all in 10 minutes.plus I didn't want it to move around incase I hit a corner to fast or a bump! and don't worry my car still flyz! If your talking about the floor! I started from the left hand side on the first stepup in the boot (where the bolts are for the bumper),screwed a small 1x4 piece of wood into that then worked my way around the boot using a level, but from the first piece the rest was screwed into the wood from my amps and fascia front of the subs,(not subbox) and the back wall of the boot by the tail lights I screwed 2 bits together then screwed it into the metal plate on the back along the locklache and put one piece straight across and screwed into the two pieces. I'll be adding some more support bits in the back if it needs it! hope it helps!

oh okay cools...well I am just doing the false floor at the moment...my subs don't require a box so I'll need to find something else to hold everything down...was thinking of using silicon glue....you can always cut it out but obviously can't be done in 10 mins like you :P

you are giving me great ideas...cheers mate =D

sorry to stomper and twirqurky for not replying about the photos of the underside of the shelf and behind!first to stomper,I didn't mount anything to the parcel shelf,my sub box is sitting about 2mm from the bottom of my 6' splits in the back shelf and the fascia front attached to the sub box is 450mm high running flush with the top of the sub box.and the amps are running as high as I could get them,if you still want picz pm me.And now for twirqurky,I've got one pic of the back of the sub box in ford freaks post on subs, but if your talking about inside of the back area I have none.not much to see anyway just cables! but if you wanted to know how I mounted the amps? just pm me and I'll fix something up! ok thankz!
