well worth the 400 bucks but i dont know why you would want to run one cause i have a massive stereo and its good in mine but if yours isnt that big maybe you should spend the money elsewhere if you are not sure about it...

besides that yes well worth it

i also have one fitted
great for the drive in movies - you can crank the stereo and still start teh car no probs. Tehy are great if you have a draining audio system. holds voltage level well and can take a pounding

I've got one, great, definately worth the money.

If your looking for a cheaper solution i am selling a brand new Panasonic battery with mounting bracket to suit E series for $135 in the for sale section...

I run a yellow top in both of my cars, and also a red top in my GF's car.

Worth every cent!! They're just a bastard to bring back to life after sitting flat for 6 months :S

Not as good looking as the optima but through experience in my old job (repairing electric scooters/wheelchairs) Sonnenschein sealed gel acid batteries were very good in applications where a high constant current drain was required like running a huge sub system!!

Click on the link to see what the have to offer.

$375 for the normal size one. They make a smaller one to suit JAP cars which is around $330....

They also state that they last longer than normal lead-acid types too...obviously this is ubject to use / abuse etc - the yellow tops can be discharged / charged upto 1000 times apparently too.

I've had mine for 4 years and I've had no problems with it.

What's the difference between Yellow, Red and Blue? I know Blue is for Marine use.

Red is a starting battery, Yellow is a deep cycle accessories battery, however it does a fine job of starting the car.

I'd never seen a 4L with 12:1 compression start so fast!!! On stock batteries they struggle to turn the engine over :P

I had a pair of 18Ahr SLA batt's lying around so I mounted them in the boot and hooked 'em up to a dual battery controller. The SLA's in the boot only power the amps and are isolated from the main battery so I can run the stereo until the amps drop out and the car still starts without a prob.
I was going to get a gelpack unit but went the cheap way first and it works great. :D
