I been told by the coppers here, that there is legislation in the pipeline, to outlaw them, only a matter of time, my detector claims to be invisible to RDD, will find out one day.

Yeah, mine had VG-2 RDD-D or stealth mode, But it was still detectable by the cops.

Although they are legal in WA, if the cops do catch you speeding they will throw the book at you. They are far less Lenient if you have a detector.

Dumb question I know, but how does an RDD detect a radar detector? I thought the RDD was a passive device.

Jammers on the other hand, thats a different story...

found this on the web

Good radar detectors, like good AM/FM radios, are super-heterodyne receivers, and they all share a common trait. They receive, but they also transmit a signal; it's called "local oscillator emissions." This transmitted signal can be found by another radio if it's tuned to the right frequency. A radar-detector detector is merely a radio tuned to the right frequency range for most detectors.

From what i can accertain radar detector detectors pick up a verry weak signal, so if you turn off your radar detector when it goes off you should be alright.

yeah they are legal in WA
my mates just bought the BELL PRO RX65 and i want one
KA- band is for moltinovas
K- is for side mounts and front mounts on cop cars but it picks up rollar doors and security systems in shops
LASER- picks up hand held cameras.
X - unsure turn it off

they work aswell we went on a road trip and went through 2 multinovas and the picked up both and gave about 400 metres warning. and picked up 1 cop car that had a side mounted radar.

multi novas are fixed/unfixed cams for other states who dont know what it is.. perth people call it something odd.. lol

Theres a few sites online about radar detectors in aus, 95% currently are detectable by radar detector detectors so have a good read and research the australian sites as i have but cant remember which sites now..

so watch out what you buy if you plan to use one in a nonlegal radar state..
