Okay i have this problem, Not too sure what is causing it. Okay the problem is i will lock the car using the remotes i will go somewhere into a shopping centre and will return to find my car magically unlocked(Has happened outside of house too) Before i owned the car my parents had this happen to them several times but it was after the following had happened.
The car would not start so parents called RAC The person who came out spent a fair bit of time under the bonnet bypassing alot of wires trying to get it to start (he thought it was the Fuel Injection not working) After this he finally looked and found out it was just a fuse So he took off all the bypass cables(I think).... But he managed to blow the original deck up.
So im not sure if he screwed up the cables somwhere causing it to short the BEM to think teh smartlock is gaining a Negative conection for a short amount of time able to cuase it too unlock..... Any ideas would be helpful because i have alot of exspensive audio equipment in the car
It only happens rarely but does happen my locks cycle a few times weekly IE Alot sometimes for like 2 minutes
Could the keypads be the problem??? (as it has never happened as far as i know locking it with the car but i barley do that unless the car refuses to lock by smartlock)
What sort of cost would i be looking at getting a new aftermarlket locking kit to bypass smartlock or to include in smartlock but replace the looms if it's possible
The cars a EF Fairmont with a High/Green BEM

Cheer's for the HELP!
