Did I blow it up? It still has some clear bass under the sounds, they sound like someone making f@rt noises with their mouth. Is the only thing it could be is blown? Could it be a problem with the amp or wiring or head unit? It was fine when I went for a drive on my lunch break then after work it was like this.

Erm, i know jack all but have you checked all fuses and whatever?
Mate had a similar problem and he found a blown/dodgy fuse in the amp.

Yeh dude this is one of those s**t problems that could come down to a large number of things....easy wqay to start is just check all cables are properly seated in amp ..distro blocks n so on. Sub amp has clean well mounted earth connection.

If you can with ya own gear/friends what ever try ya sub on another amp thats okay to run the sub off....to rule out whether the fault is with the sub.

Check speaker wire connections to the sub.

It could be the RCAs from the AMP to HU...Have u got another set u could try ?

So yeh could be a number of things main thing is just to swap some gear to try and rule out whether the fault is internal to the amplifier or subwoofer.

well for a start move ur sub by hand in the box, if it has pressure behind it in a seald enclosure its sitting right, if it feels like the cone is scratching, grabbing or generally not moving freely then u burnt ur voice coil, and if it moves fine then its a cable problem

ok I put the sub into my brothers car and it worked fine so I guess its the amp or something. I suppoze there is only so far a $30 amp can go. I was still using the one I got from cooki_monsta so it was about time to upgrade anyway.

Well the amp still could be fine...could be a dead RCA for some reason or anything....does this amp have adjustable gains ? is it a multi channel or mono block amp ?

If its multi like a 2 channel drop the gains if ya can to the normal default set the high pass filter on if it has that and run ya rear or front speakers of it...see if they run ok or if ya mate doesnt mind u running his sub or watever off your amp.

I have 2 different amps for sale if ya interested....could negotiate the price abit further possibly....ALPINE V12 5 and 2 channel amps

see here http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=18880

lemme know ya thoughts...will keep an eye on this topic
