Now I've uninstalled this system from the EA, does anyone know what price i should expect to pay for a full install into my AU of the following:
Single DIN Pioneer H/U 2 x Front 6" Splits w/ tweeters Amp Rear 6" Speakers (maybe on these ones) 12" Boxed sub I bought it all through JB, so I'll probably go back through them for re-install. I'm not skilled enough to install an amp/sub, so I'll probably just get the whole lot done by a professional. Anyone has a job this big done for them before? Cheers

I don't wanna f**k anything up. I think I could do it, but I'm not confident enough. Plus it's a new car for me, I don't wanna be the one responsible if i trash any of the interior

it is so simple to do it man follow the instructions and u cant go wrong i did it in my el and i learnt so much from it

yea man i did my own too. I was the same as you, didnt want to fuk up anything but you cant really if you folow the steps

You've got an AU, how did you deal with the double DIN stereo to single issue?

you get a single din pocket. Depending on the color of your interior you either get the black(dark gray) or the gray one. Or there are other stuff you can get from the net.
The only thing thats a PITA to do is to get the head unit to sit right but after some time fiddling you'll get it. Save the cash and do it your self. Also don't cut the head unit wires go to your local super cheap or Auto barn and you can buy plugs that alow you to jus plug your head unit into the stock plug. Makes everything much easier. |

As said so far, it's easy to do it yourself and you will most likely do a better job. JB etc are not professionals and there is no way I would ever take my car back to them or anyone else

if you can install a head unit then you can definatly do the sub and amp..

its recommended that you disconnect your battery first... (you car will stall occasionally for an hour or so after you reconnect the battery but will fix itself after a bit of driving)
Screw you amp in to the back of the seat from the boot... you will need to run a power cable from you battery + to your amp 12v + (to get through the fire wall i ran the power cable to the through the same hole as the acc. cable) run a cable from the ground of the amp to the body of the car (if you fold down the rear seats and remove the small carpet between the seat and boot carpet you will see where the seats are bolted in... undo a bolt put the other end of the ground cable in the joint and tighten the bold) you will also need to run a wire (normally blue with white stripe) called Remote or amp on from you headunit to your amp... plug rca cables in to your headunit and amp... now conect the sub to the amp... if you let me know what model your headunit amp and sub are ill can give you a bit more info...

not sure if its the same with AU's but if the battery is disconnected in a BA for longer than half an hour you should after reconnecting leave the key in the on position for a half hour for it to learn the key codes again.
