Yeah it does it on radio and cd. I just went and had a play dismorning, i disconnected the amp for the subby from the back on the amp this including power and the two rca's yet the normal speakers in the car still seem to have this static. Then i went on to try stupid things like does it do it with the whipers on (as someone asked) and the heater, lights etc and yes it does do it but its no more frequent then it is if they arent on. Its only when the engine it on that it does it, so now im really bloody lost

It may be a number of things.
Unshielded RCA's running with the power cable will cause interference and produce that noise. Run RCA's down one side of the car and Power down the middle, or use optical fibre fable instead of RCA's (if your headunit is capable) Use good quality twisted pair RCA's (doesn'[t have to be $100+ stinger ones just not $15 supercheap ones) Ensure a soild earth connection, sand back the paint and have an earth cable at least the size of your power line (i.e. 4 gauge or 0 gauge or whatever) Try that for a start PS the device everyone is talking about is callde a ground lopp isolator. They're about $15 and are a patch solution. Nothing wrong with them but you shouldn't need one. They have a small effect on low frequency response.

hrmm ok, but its also all the other speakers in the car that are producing this sound even if i disconnect the subwoofer amp completely they still come out of all the speakers in the car... thats why im puzzled

hmmm when i hook my speakers up to the head unit they are fine, my rca's run down the middle of the car and my power runs down a side cant really be bothered pulling the carpet out again lol

Ok remove the headunit and run a new eart wire for it, do not tap into the factory earth. It has been known to have caused problems in those cars...
Run it back to one of the kickpanels or somewhere where you can get to the body of the car... Sand back to bare metal and fit a ring terminal...

Ok sweet ill see what i can do over the weekend, my amps grounded pretty well but ill still unscrew it and sand it back but i hope this all works, can i ground the headunit and amp to the same point?

Can do but your best to keep gound as short as possible. I would try the headunit ground before the amp one, especially if your pretty sure its right.
Run it back to the kickpanel where its easy to get to the frame of the car

is your head unit pioneer
it could be the rca outputs on the head unit bad earth in side the headunit

Yeah it is pioneer... where should i put the grounding cables on the rca cables... they are fairly short :S

go with pyro, and if it dont fix it try wat i said my mate has a pioneer and it does wat you are saying and he still has not fixed it he said when he earthed the rca out if helped but it was still a little bit there, then he tried different head units in his car and it stopped so it was something to do with the headunit

Ok i went to Autobarn and asked a installer there, they said its hard to tell what the problem may be. He recommended that i buy a noise filter and try that, wiring it to the headunit. My next question is in order what should i do first to get rid of this poping sound
