was just wondering if any 1 had encountered this problem, i got the speakers for free however they are really good quality.
i could sell them and buy 6 inch splits or buy a baffle to bring them out abit BUT then i have the problem of the speakers slapping the door trim. should i file out the inside of the trim where the speaker grill is???????? and suggestions would be much appreciated.

6.5 inch will fit, its the depth u have to worry about..i had trouble finding a good pair of splits that would fit, and in the end i got crossfire 6.5"s, shallow cone.

Depending which model Focal's you've got they will fit.
find wazzab4 on here, he's got a 3-way Focal setup in a EF.

Depth doesnt matter either they will fit, i was able to fit my Polyglass 6.5inch Splits in the stock EB Holes ! But i did get a bit of slapping when my system was feeding alot of midbass to the driver ! But since then i have done a custom install with the recesses section at the bottom of the trim which you could do something similar !

I just fitted 6.5inch soundstream splits in my door's.. Ended up cutting couple spots and folding them down.. Works perfect.. And can't get defected for it..

yeh i went to my local car audio and got some spacers, i had a look and the do fit depth wise but im most worried about the slapping on the door trim, i will try and locate them a bit more forward and file some trim away.
if i postion them in the stock hole they dont entirely fit being on a bit of an angle but the spacers/locator things sould fix not sure wat model they are but they have the woven cone... 6.5 inch and are 130w max thanks heaps for the response p.s sorry but i dont think i will sell unless u are local, maybe $300?? |

depth is the big problem. the speckers i got are way to deep. (D&D 6.5" 200rms splits)
i'm making some custom pods for my ef, they will sit in the map pocket. so far i've fiberglassed in my base for the specers, now looking for some nice trimming to finish it off. |

I did as boxcar did fo the doors and made a couple thinnish spacers I hid under the carpet on the parcel shelf, although I had depth problems on the prcelshelf due to my amps otherwise I would've dropped them down instead.
