I'm not following you...

My understanding is this...

The factory one stopped working you you replaced with an after market unit?

The aftermarket unit comes with instructions of what to hook where...you find the wire that is powered when the key is on accy and not powered when key is off... you hook it to the red wire in the back of the stereo... you find the wire that has power only when the headlight switch is on park and hook it to the orange wire on the cd player...

how are you not finding the right spot to hook the illumination and accy wires?

The wiring is done properly and I have gotten a couple people to go over it and make sure it's been done right.. I briefly spoke to a auto elec today. He told me these models suffer from s**t electrics and he put it down to a fault fuse box.. But I don't agree since everything else the fuse box is linked to works fine.. I hate cars right now
