just need to know
-yay or nay
-what size
-power output

depends what your after really....u can go an 8" free air sub like the stock one....again comes down to ya budget and what you are expecting to get out of this....obviously since your considering a small parcel shelf mounted sub crazy big bass isnt your aim.....a good 8" tho will produce a very nice clear variety of tight punchy bass notes that will suit a good budget semi SQ aimed setup.

So you can do this if u want....does save quite a bit of money since your not having to get a sub box (unless u went enclosed 8" woofer and had a small custom fibreglass enclosure made for it...could even up to a 10" woofer then but yeh)

Aside from that you need to consider how u intend to power it....the costs involved with lengths of cab, ling since u werent running a boot mounted battery - I remeber you were looking at budget Jaycar 4 channel amps etc....depending what you choose and if all 4 speakers were going to be connected then you will need a seperate amp for the sub etc.....unless you havent already purchased the 4 channel and should look at a better 5 channel (5th channel on most 5 ch amplifiers is used as a dedicated subwoofer channel - normally has a much larger peak n nominal output to the other 4 channels)

Few points to ponder over anyway mate

Find a wrecked Ghia and pull the amp and sub out :)

And put some sort of spacer in cause the sub rattles the parcel shelf like a b**ch :(
