The best thing I have found is weather stripping/speaker sealer. it is foam with glue on it, when you put the plastic bits together it stops them moving/touching which is where the sound comes from. IF you know what is rattling then it will stop it. Its brilliant.

Get a long roll for about 10 bucks at bunnings etc. Its usually used for doors to keep out drafts and water from the gaps.

what do you mean removal plan? his rattling was in the bracing of the boot rattling against the boot. so he jsut put the liquid nails there.
