hey all,i had a pioneer headunit,and im running 6 1/2inch speakers all round and a rockford fosgate 12 inch P1 sub running off a US audia 5 channel amp,it was pretty good for a fairly cheap set up,i ot a good priced rockford fosgate hu with front,rear and sub outs(instead of just the 2 outs the pioneer had)thinking it would be a big improvement!Only trouble is its the worst its ever been bass wise,the pioneer was way better!the box im using is straight out of the rockford sub booklet,to rockford spec with reccomended port!Im thinking this is where i need to focus to improve my sterio!the box is 65X25X42cm and about 50 litres any suggestions???

tune it my friend
 if its 2 basey then turn down the gain on ur sub chanel  other wise fill in your port, or turn up the trebel and turn down the volume

its not bassy enough,sub channel gain is at its max but is crapper than how it was with pioneer,if i turn the treble up and speakers down it wont actually improve anything would it??like that'll only help speaker sound which is fine

play with the settings on the HU
it may very well be you liked the way the pioneer reproduced the beats as opposed to the rockford

iv played with the bass in hu,doesnt help

very strange.
lets start at the headunit and work along. if your h/u has sub outs then you should be able to adjust sub volume separately on your h/u. thats NOT the bass control. It should have bass, treble, AND sub controls. is the amp not powerful enough (unlikely), or has it got a low pass or high pass filter set on it incorrectly. The bass in music is around 60-80Hz so if a low-pass filter is set below that you will miss out on a bit. If there's a high-pass filter set then it's not playing any bass! is the sub sealed into the box good (is the box sealed good). sounds like the box is the right size... that's all i can think of. good luck.

he has only changed h/u's
nothing else although definately try upping the bass using the sub out on the h/u...

i cant find sub controls in hu anywhere only bass,i went n re tuned it all from scratch and its a fair bit better than it was but i dont thik im happy yet.has anyone got a full on boot set up in an ea-ed??

ahhh i read that wrong, sorry, i thought u meant there was 2 much, i think the rockford puts out line level , un changeable sub audio, where as the pioneers output wud be about a 6v max wave. So the sound into the amp with the pioneer wud be louder then with the rockford. Easy solution, get a level booster, or a bigger amp
