i use to run a 4 channel powering my 6" in the front and bridged 2 channels to run my 12" and worked well so if want to keep ya 4 speakers amped then id get a 5 channel or get a monoblock for ya sub, im gettin a 5 channel soon so less wires to deal with,

how do subs in the boot look good to theives? Unless you're leaving the seats down or something...
If you get a sub that's designed as a free air sub they will sound a fair bit better than subs designed for use in enclosures. Also you ideally want to have amps that are more powerful than what your subs are rated at so you can run under-run the amps. I have to give it to you though, you gotta be game to be buying stuff without listening to it first (I've only done this once with type-r splits after assuming they would sound good cause of the good reviews they get...)

well think about it mate how many subs are stolen from cars each year, if i broke into someones boot and saw a big wooden box im not going to think it a coffin am i? if ya can hide a sub on your parcel shelf so is not seen would be bit hard to see it when you look in the boot, but i do agree with the amp, as they say ya can never have too much power! that said, somethings ya cant road test, ya just have to learn by trial and error, s**t if i could try before i buy with a few ex's id be alot better off

haha wouldn't we all...
sorry was just trying to point out you can usually still see the parcel shelf mounted sub when looking in from the outside, where's with subs in the boot you don't see it til you get in. If you go to good audio places you can usually test some of the gear. I usually try either that or finding people who have it to listen to, but then again I'm kinda pedantic about my audio

oh yeah ive used my audio guys for years, they know there s**t, they build comp stereos so they know what works, i have full faith in them

I think theres more chance of a boxed sub in the boot going missing than thieves spending the time to remove a sub from the parcel shelf. . .

i gotta agree pn that 1 u cant see the factory subs cus there cvered by the parce shelf material but yes some cut it out but id leave it htere as its only thin material covering it and will be alot less likely to be stolen mind u when my stereo got stolen they took there time and took everything except my front door speakers and a shuitty deck

sorry to hear mate, but can promise you your not alone, saw a brand new laser absolutely demolished parked in a driveway one morning as i was on my way to work so no car is safe. think thats why im insured to the max i can be so if it happens to me again i at least get something for it, well either that or can put snakes in your car for protection

Either that or an alarm loud enough to make your ears bleed.
I suppose I'm used to not really parking my car anywhere at night except near work or home, both of which are in areas where it would be difficult to steal anything without people being like wtf. Haha and its not exactly like they could drive my car anywhere anyway lol.
