has any body had trouble with their sub seeming to drain the battery?, when i have it loud the car wont start next time i try it.

That's not an unusual occurance if your stereo system draws a fair amount of current and your battery is in poor condition.
If the battery goes flat after just a short amount of time, then perhaps check the condition of your electrical system. Alternator output within spec, battery condition, power and earth cables of adequate current carrying capacity, etc. If the battery goes flat after an extended amount of time, then you might need to revise your listening habits. Start the car at regular intervals to keep the battery charged or purchase a battery with greater power reserves than a normal one (deep cycle).

optima deep cycle marine ftw :p best battery ive ever had, cranks like a mofo and runs a 4x100 rms amp and er... cant remember wattage but a decent 10" sub and monoblock amp for an hour flat out no problems starting again... pricey though and a few people havent had the great experience ive had with optima... although from what i can tell no problems with the marine, only the other deep cycle type... red or yellow cant remember which is deep cycle and which is high output...

i am currently running a 600CCA battery in the BA. Have had music going for almost two hours and was still able to start the car.
This was with music cranked running two subs off one four channel amp. its not a deep cycle but it does the trick well enough

You do remember correctly krisisdog 
I run an Optima D34 Yellowtop and I'm more than happy with it. I can run my system for hours and the car will still start as normal.

I never understand why people fit the so called 'recommended' CCA battery for their cars... i say, fit the biggest fcker you can squeeze in, car will crank better and less stress on the battery...
im still biased to optimas though, they are just so sexy :p |

without a special order for a battery the same dimensions as standard apparently (or so i was told) 600 CCA is the max. Otherwise you move to a light truck battery

maybe time to install a sealed lead acid battery in your boot if your going to be playing music while the engine is off.... i recommend against putting a regular car battery in the boot as it can give off flammable gasses and if it's not secured it can tip over and spill acid on your nice carpet.

even a sealed battery should be kept in a battery enclosure with a drain and vent to the outside of the car... overcharging (which can happen) will cause any battery to vent some pretty nasty stuff... ive heard of an optima spraying a nasty gas out in someones boot before... always cater for the worst case and you will never have a problem...

boot full of gas + spark = awesome bass (BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
