hey mate...well sony make good TVs and other home entertainment systems...but in-car systems they are s**t in my opinion. H3AT has a set of 6" speakers for the rear of his old laser...and they sounded pretty crap. Listening to Sony speakers compared to lets say Pioneers, you can tell the difference and I prefer Pioneer. But for the price you paid you can't really complain.

For the amp...Pioneer Class-D monoblocks are excellent so I have heard. Haven't had an experience with pioneer amps. I use Audiobahn and they do the job very well, but tendency to overheat which the Pioneer monoblock doesn't do much since it is a Class-D.

if you can get your hands on a Pioneer Class-D monoblock for cheap then get it. If might want to try Jaycar amps...they seem to go very well and good value for money.

phong =P~

Another thumbs down for Sony subs and speakers here. Most of the other mainstream brands are better.

yer have to agree with the other boys....
sony is a lower quality speaker and im guessing thats why there cheaper...
i have pioneer TSD rang 6 and 6x9's in my car running off a pioneer 600w amp and it pumps but it costs a lots more...
sound stream seems to be a coming out with some good speakers these days to...

i had 2 of them in my car and they are highly underestimated, when i first had one it was pretty good but it starts to f@rt when pumping it TOO hard.
in my opinion excellent bang for you buck.

dont know much about amp brands but i do no with amps you pretty much get what you pay for.

i recently swicthed to 1 kicker competition with a cadiance amp and i can say even though its much more clear and has more punch the xplodes pumpd harder,
