Some of the cheap DVD units you find sometimes have decent components in them. A guy on CarAudioAustralia recomended mine to me, think it was Panasonic components or something, and I've been really happy with it. I have no double a decent brand unit would be better, but this unit has all the features (plus DVD) and that you'd expect of a $200 Pioneer CD player and sounds as good for the same price! One day I'll get something better but while this one does the job and I've got other things to spend my money on, it can stay.
It's the same for the LCD screens and that on there, all mine are actually Sharp brand screens.

But then you also find auctions like this http://cgi.ebay.com.au/JVC-KD-DV5105-DV ... dZViewItem were your getting a decent brand unit for a good price!

you've got to wonder why the brand name is blacked out on the close up pic.

Yeah that raises some interesting questions, the only thing i dont like about it is the fact that they ship out stuff from Asia... I wanted to get some Alpine stuff noff of that same company but, it just seems to dodgy for my liking.

Buy a respectable brand - like Pioneer or Alpine or Sony. Leave the Panaphonics brands for the Homer Simpsons among us LOL.

Did anyone happen to notice under the terms and conditions where it states that ALL Electronic equipment is 240v with a plug to suit australian sockets... ? :)
Seemed a little weird to me.
