do a good job on it though, UHFs draw a few amps when transmitting so solder and heatshrink the connections... no dodgey twist the wires and tape with electrical tape :P

Well got it in on sunday after the rotors got done.
Now awaiting for the police frequencies being tuned in but otherwise the thing I like about the unit is how easy it is to remove/install as some are a permenent setup & stick out like dogs balls but now to tint the rear windscreen so the aerial is not visible as its installed on the parcel shelf.
SLY LOL SLY

I spose considering the Twin car (aka brads car) has 2 big aerials attached to the guards I shouldnt be to worried but in the days of AM CB in car one of my mates was giving a truckie s**t after the truck tried to cut him off then the truck tried to shunt us off the road a very scary experiance but I mainly listen or only talk to people I know when on the air but its funny listening on cruises especially when yobbo comes along.

I have all the NSW/QLD police and Main Roads freqs in an excel spreadsheet if anybody wants them, also the callsign codes so you know what you are hearing.

As of the end of this year, atate police are moving to secure digital coms and your scanner wont be of much use in listeneing in to them.

nsw police already have a number of channels on digital, some are APCO25 only, some are dual broadcasting, and some are still running no encryption at all.

just FYI
