Ok so i got idea on the uhf ariels
i now have a uniden pro 510xl
apperntly a 27mhz cb
i need a ariel and found this

is this any good?
and the 27mhz will work on say the normal cb ie handhelds uhf's if not i going to return it

Take it back bloke. 27MHz AM is ummmm.... not great.

For starters, everyone on your cruises are likely to have UHFs (i.e. little UHF handhelds). A 27MHz radio WILL NOT communicate with these devices.

The ariel you posted in that link will not work with the 27MHz CB.

Hopefully you have no probs returning it?

yeah sorry as previously mentioned, AM (27mhz) and UHF (477mhz) are totally different, operate on a different frequencies, and cannot communicate with one another.

i did the same thing but mine was 20 from a garage sale including the ariel, still haven't come round to get a uhf cb yet
