You need to seperate the power cable from rca cable. I ran my power up one side of the car then the rca up the other side. When there together it causes some sort of interference and you get that thump.

I had the same problem after I put my 4 channell in, once I upgraded the power cable and put the earth in a better spot it fixed the problem. from what I have been told its not the best thing to have happen, does nasty thingsto the amp and sub apparrently.

And yes running the rca's next to the power can cause this and interferance, just depends on what rca's and power cable you are using

Thats why I mentioned it depends on what is being used, I ran my rca and power cable together for well over a year and never had any issues, yet mates of mine have done it and had nothing but issues with it. Mind you all my mates drive crumadores lol maybe that was the problem

Your negative lead should be as short as possible and no longher than 30cm otherwise it could pick up interference. Also, it needs to be the same size as your positive going into the AMP. So if your positive is 4G your negetive needs to be 4G. And if its connected on the body of the car make sure you sand back the paint to get good contact.

A capacitor will help too, and stop your headlights from dimming every time the subs pump.

Good Luck dude!
