ok whats a recommended amp to run 2 type R alpine 12" subs.

ebay links would be good as ill buy on there then take to JB to install..

edit: dont wanna spend more than 2 grand RRP (ebay 1500) on the amp/s


would this work with the 2 type R's in paralell

no need to spend 2 grand man...depending what power u want them to make.

One alpine MRD-1000 is enough or MRD1005....are these the dual 2ohm or 4ohm coils ?

All you need is a decent wattage mono block amp - run the subs in series.

heyman do what i did, aaron (pyroay) is selling amps by jbl atm, its plenty powerfull enuff for 2 subs, 555 will get u the mono block + postage and ill install it for ya at a compedative rate. have a look for it , the thread should be on the 2nd page of the forsale sect.

and have you already bought the 2 subs...alpine have a deal at the moment 2x Type R 12s (Dual 2 or 4ohm coils) and an MRV-1005 (1000w mono block amp) for $1499 so ya save like $598

nah havent yet

ive got a pioneer 600w amp and a jl w3v2 12" wired up already so RCAs dont need to be fiddled with, but ill need thicker amp power cable, and help on wiring the actual subs to the amp and help tuning them. other than that i can do it all myself probably.


if anyone is near ringwood and wouldnt mind helping me finish my 1/2 assed custom boot install ill pay for your time in booze or cash.

ill take pics of how it looks atm so u get the idea.

yea ill do it, i can either be in lilydale maby or upper gully, id prefer upper gully tho cos lilydale is my gf's house, and i can help ya with ne thin u need.
