Can you please fill us in on the sound deadneing? What material? How much? Where you layed it... How you layed it? Do you just glue it to the metal? I'll probably be doing some myself later down the track.

Thanks

:( Gone are the days where i would change soundsystems more than i'd change my socks.... which is to say i change my socks VERY rarely.... lol nah you know what i mean.... these days i have a sony xplod non detaachable face deck... where half the digits don't show up unless you bash it and stock speakers all around.... I even removed all my HU surrounds, and put a screwdriver just under it... that way if anyone want's to steal it they won't do too much damage..... but yeah it's pretty s**t.. i doubt anyone would bother..... These days subs annoy me... the radio annoys me even more.... and i'm too lazy to constantly swap cd's... so it's always off.... i get alot more entertainment from listening to my car missfire and make odd sounds.... fun fun fun.

Argh - bugger that I say! :o

Sound deadening usually has a bitumen backing that when heated up becomes mould-able and will stick to the metal skeleton - if you have a decent front stage, it will come to life with sound deadened front doors - good stuff to use is Dynamat Extreme, but it's $$$...brown bread ain't too bad on the budget...however G-Spot (see www.caraudioaustralia.com) is releasing a new range of products which are already becoming very popular.

Cheers,
Steve

I wont go through the many systems ive gone through to finally achieve my dream system. This ones hear to stay though, this ones cost me around $7000 so i really dont think any more modificatiosn to the stereo are necessary.
I got the tweeters setup right where they are in the fairmont ghias, along that piller thingo where nobody can see em.
Alpine CDA-7998R Head Unit
Competition splits in the front
Alpine S-type 6.5" speakers in the rear(newbies)
twin Rockford Fosgate Punch 12" subs in a custom Sealed Box, Stealth install with 2 alpine v-12 amps hanging off the back wall in the boot. the install cost me almost a grand alone, will take photos sometime this week to show yas the install. can still get to spare tyre, yaz would definately be surprised if ya see this as it literally looks like ford put it all in.

In the EB i got cda-9831-r Headunit
s**t boss splits in the front with tweeters in the door next to em
same rear speakers as in the AU except theyre visible.
15" 1500 watt Type-R Alpine Sub
Speakers and Sub are run once again by twin Alpine v-12 Amps.

I really only know wat im talking about wen its about subs, speakers and s**t i tend to just go top of the range to be happy, cbf rememberin model numbers and s**t. Quite proud of both setups though and as i sed will get pics this week sometime
