for that kinda money, i'd look at something like one of the old school alpine MRV-T1507 2 channel amps for the sub, and something like a DEH-P5850MP head unit

how much did you spend on the sub?

Go for the Responce sound gear from Jaycar. 99% of the quality (probably more the the brand names really) at 50% the price

Also you will still need to spend about $200 for "The Cat 09" controls to run your steering wheel controls with a Pioneer headunit.

I have yet to get one ... it's annoying me more now that my remote battery has died too ... LOL

1: how the heck did you get a TS-W3004SPL for $250? IIRC they're priced a fair bit higher
2: yea, a monoblock would be better, but its hard to find any monoblocks that make half decent power for under $500 without going for something like one of the re-sponse amps

if you want to go the re-sponse way, consider this:

thier 800w monoblock makes 700wrms @2 ohms
thier 4X100w amp makes 2X380wrms @4 ohms when bridged and for $100 less.....

thier "1500w" monoblock makes 1000wrms @2 ohms, or
buy 2 of thier 2X150's that make 1X 500wrms bridged, you still end up with 100wrms going into your sub, but for $159 less than the monoblock

try www.advanceae.com.au for re-sponse pricing, they're usually cheaper than jaycar
