hey guys i just bought pre au dark agent rims. and tried to chuck them on today. the rears were fine. but when i went to put the front ones on. i seen that they just about rub on the control arm thing yi believe it is. and if i drive it i don't wanna be taking chunks out of the brand new tires. i think ill need spacers but am unsure on what size or anything as i don't want them to then rub on the guards. anyone had this problem?

Are you sure they are E series offset, ie 6mm. AU rims will fit the rear with no issue but will foul on the suspension on the front.

My Drift R's miss the upright by only millimeters and I still had to roll the guards because they hit... I am very low but and the rims 8.5" wide with 235's on them...

I assume you are talking about the upright? Pretty hard for a wheel to hit on the control arms...

You say just about rub... If it doesn't actually touch the upright then this is right... If it does touch the upright then it's wrong... As I said mine are very very close to the upright but nothing there can flex to let the wheel actually touch the upright, and if it does then something larger has unfolded and the wheel rubbing on the upright would be the least of my worries...

Cheers,
Tim

I have more gap on my 17's between them and the ball joint... Does a circumference this big throw your speedo out much?

I have similiar gap to the grease nipple hanging out the bottom of my top ball joint... Aftermarket ball joints and they seem to have grease nipples now... Something to keep in mind when they need replacing... Then you may find trouble...

Cheers,
Tim

i was just a bit worried haha. seems like it should be alright.

as for throwing out the speedo much. im not to sure yet as ive only just got the rims. mate used a site to test that stuff and said it should only throw it out by about 1km. so that's not to bad.

cheers steve,

With 245/35/19 you should be ok with the upright. You will have to roll the guard though.

I did the exact same thing, 19" Pre Au Agents and yeah it's close but it wont hit. I have done maybe 3000ks with them and no issues. For piece of mind when I need new tyres ill go for 235 instead of 245 but none the less they are fine

Nah mine guards are not rolled, they don't hit or anything but I will get them done once I get coilovers. I just have standard XR suspension, which by the looks of it is a bit lower then yours.
