If you were pretty good with a die grinder/dremil, could you grind in a slight groove, and sand smooth so it looks factory?

dremil would almost be a must.. it however is the challenge of figuring out how to get a consistant depth... and exactly which "bit" would create the best "cut"... trial and error on a spare bu of plastic or wood i guess...

Could you make and fit some sort of depth gauge/stop on it?

I don't think you would have too much trouble making something fit mate... looking at the "electrical tape job" you are faily precise with your work and i'm sure with your brain and patience you can sort it out...I would suggest a "fork" type depth guage... Use small steel rods "dowel" bend it at the end to get the desired angle/depth... down both sides of the dremel I would suggest using a steel hose clamp or 2 to "secure" it to the dremel. attatch a small wedge to the bottom of the dremel to use as a slide on the "bar" and this would assist in getting the perfect depth... for fibre glass cutting use the "sanding/small angle grinder" type bit... they get blunt fast but cut fairly well... i hope you understand what i mean mate...

Maybe you try A laminate trimmer with a glass dril bit.. Base could still be a bit big for the curved bit.. Just a thought.. :)

I'll give it 12 months and you will already have a typhoon front bar on your XR6.

I say give it a shot. It isn't something that is unrecoverable..

besides, that line they are talking about to delineate the two colors is nothing you couldn't simulate with a dremal and 30 minutes or less with a small wheel. Doesn't need to be deep, just needs to look like s joining seam.

i have good news this looks great.

i was going into morley tonight when an ocatne BF caught my eye with a light grey painted in this area of discussion. i thought is that the BF 2.5 then remembered they were on the sides of the front bar.

the car had the bottom area under the skirt (around exhaust and towball) painted in light grey to. it was deffinately a BF 2 as per the side skirts and the front bar didnt have the grey on the sides. go for it fordfreak
