Hi all,

Quick question...

will these:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=250420327793

Fit in a fairmont EL plastic insert?

Or can they be adapted?

I was also wondering the same thing frankieh, it seems the Au clear repeaters are cheaper and a bit easier to source than the EF/EL ones nowadays :|

There was a guy selling EF EL Falcon ones on ebay somewhere, but he reckons that they wont fit Fairmonts/Ghias as they are a different size. I think they were reproduction ones, not originals. To me they would be a bit easier to adapt to the original mould rather than AU ones as they have a similar shape to Fairmont ones.

I'm not so sure Kwikxr... the GLI/futura repeaters for EL look bigger than the Fairmont ones.... The full ghia sides came with my car.. but without the repeaters so I can't put them back on and I'm stuck with no trims and the GLI ones.

at just 29 bucks.. I'm tempted to try it anyway... it's always good to ask if anyone else has tried first though. :-)

Ok... that answers that..

The ones I have of my beast are ghia... to be honest I didn't know that fairmont and ghia's had different units..

The last photo AU on Ghia didn't look that bad..
I'm just now wondering what it would look like with the rest of the hole bogged up and painted...

I'm guessing the ghia's are the same ones you see for fairlanes and LTD's on ebay?

The 78 dollar ones were not ghia.. they were GLI..

I've not seen many ghia ones around.... I had orange ones before but I can't find the lights anymore.. (was gonna use tinter to make them dark as an interim measure) but it appears I've lost the buggars..

why did ford make both clear and orange ghia lights??? what did it mean to have orange ones was your ghia a lower optioned model or something?

Don't suppose you have one of the sets left? WA wreckers are usually more expensive but I'll give it a shot.

sort of it was actually el fairmont's, and el fairmont ghia's that got the rounded orange repeaters, all ef's, including ghia's got the triangle looking things.
and all fairlane got the rounded clear ones.
Also ask around as i had one wrecker actually say the could get them for like 35 a pair or something, maybe aftermarket, I'm not sure, just I asked about a pair of used ones and he goes well we can actually get them new for x if you want, I should've taken him up on it now i think back, but ohwell.

Haha thats the ones on ebay i was talking about Frankieh, tried to find it yesterday when i posted a reply but couldnt find the auction again. Didnt know that Fairmont Ghias came with the rounded lense at all to be honest only ever seen them on Fairlane and LTDs. Learning something new everyday on here

So those GLi ones on ebay are the exact same size as the ones on the normal Fairmonts then? (with the triangular shape repeaters)
