Has anyone sanded with fine grade paper and used autosol silver polish on stockie wheels for an AU?

Was thinking of doing this then applying a clear coat to protect them.

What do they look like all done?

Anyone?

First of all Why?
Second, if your thinking about doing it by hand, and getting a good finish, forget it.
Or is it the brushed metal look, that your aiming for?

they'd look likle shinny stock steelies. can't say they'd be my choice of weels at all. it'd make it very noticeable that they arte the stock steelies and they'd stand out massively!

OK, ok, just a thought, but you are right, they'd look like shiny steelies.

Personally I don't actually dislike the steelies, as long as the rest of the car is in decent nick and is clean, but they are pretty 'common'

Just trying to improve over stockie 15's with hubcaps without spending the money needed on BA XR6 mags which are my likely option.....

Problem, he says SA only, and even if it didn't, freight to Sydney would probably make them $400, with no tyres, so might as well go for local BA XR6 rims.

But good idea anyway Frankie!

Tempe tyres are close by.

You are right, those rims are pretty average. Like big bloody flowers.

Oh well.

OI they are my rims! i love em look good, even better since i got the faces polished!

and they are 16" means tyres are cheaper and provide good handling and grip just wish i could go bigger than 225 wide
