But MAKE SURE you get the panel beater to take their time on fitting it, the bulge on my car is sarting to crack and ripple and looks like sh!te.

I'm considering this mod for my Ghia and was advised by the panel beater not to do it for the reasons you describe. How long ago was it fitted and do you have any vent holes underneath?

I've been wondering about the long term durability.

Yair, my panel beater did advise me that cracking/warping 'could' happen but chances were it would be minimal. Now it looks so bad, that i'm almost tempted to rip it off and go in search for a not too damaged BA XR8 bonnet and cutting out the bulge and having it welded to my Fairmont bonnet.

Mind you, it has lasted me a good 16 months or so...

how is urs actually fixed to the bonnet matt? im currently in the process of fitting one soon. I was under the impression urs was sikaflexed and then bogged? Im prob gonna mark the bulge out on bonnet sand back section to bare metal, then epoxy resin the bulge on, it wont come of then hopefully avoiding using bog etc.

where is everyone getting their BA bulges from? I tried the forum search, and got nothing? Also how much it cost you to purchase and fit?

I'm not actually 100% sure how it was attached to the bonnet. But im fairly sure the panel beater used sika and body filler, then painted it. It looked wicked for a few months, but eventually it cracked and is now progressively getting worse. I'm waiting for it to fly off when driving down the highway doing 110km/h haha!

BlownNc, i bought my bonnet bulge from a company over east called AWC. I don't know if you have seen their website, www.awcinfo.com , but they have a whole heap of aftermarket body bits.

Is anyone pumping out full fibreglass and carbon bonnets yet for E series? I think it was going to go ahead with Fibresports but that idea was put on hold for some reason.
