G'day Guys.

I'm looking at doing a HID kit conversion for the XT once I get the XR6 headlights in (I have a GT bar, so I can finally have it on :D)

Just wondering, what different types of HID kits are there, and what I should be looking for etc.

Cheers

Dont do it mate, i been there done that and it was such a nightmare trying to get the spread right. I think I changed the globes about 30 times and tried so many different designs of H4 it wasnt funny. You will need to angle the lights so far down to not blind other drivers that they dont shoot far enough onto the road to be useful.

Unless you are going to retrofit some projectors within the headlight then don't do it, just get some narva plus 80s or plus 100s and enjoy the extra light.

Cheers
Phil

No worries mate, its just the style of globe, H4 is low beam, H7 is high beam and generally H3 or H1s are used in fog lights. Im rocking the 80s atm and dont have any complaints, i think the plus 100s are from SCA only though

Cheers
Phil

Narva Plus have 100's for $65 a pair on EvilBay. So H7 for HB, and H4 for LB. Sweet as, I'll be leaving the fog lights normal for a while. Also, do the BA GT's have different fog lights to the XR6's? Or are they all the same size etc?

I think they maybe different. Does it mention anything on ssv? I know I had to buy specific foglights when i got my BF GT bar (i needed em anyways) but im pretty sure it mentioned that the xr6 foggies didnt fit

Didn't get the bar from SSV. Will ask the company I bought from.

Edit: Looking on SSV, my bar is the BF GT. And it DOES require different fog lights. Only problem is the part number they list that you need, they don't have? Part number light they say you need is DLSJ40, yet they only DLSJ45. Not sure if it's the same light or not.

Ahh sweet, I got the BF GT bar as well - I think its a nicer looking bar than the BA. You could always ring SSV to confirm. I thought they only sold one type of fog light

Nah, they have multiple fog lights. The part number they list with the BF GT Front Bar, is DLSJ40. But when you click on the link to go to it, it just says that part is unavailable. And the only other fog light that looks remotely similiar is the DLSJ45, but I'm not sure whether they are the same or not.

Yeah, I'm going to take a guess and assume that they are the same light, but they changed the part number on their system.

I think they were just a universal 100mm fog light, they actually arent too bad either, produce a decent amount of light onto the road

I just want this bodykit finished already lol once the headlights and foglights are on, I can put the front bar on and take it to a panel beater to get it all fitted and painted properly.

It was your car that gave me the inspiration to do mine lol once the bodykit is sorted, I can get my lsd fitted with 3.9 and then cams with a tune.
