Did any EL's roll off the factory line with a black paint scheme? I've yet to see one on the road... ever.

Yeh I was wondering because some of the promo pictures at the time of its release show a black Fairmont Ghia. I think they would have looked nice in black.

I know the photo you're tlaking about, but could it have been a dark herritage green? I know myself, and alot of others have mistaken daniels old fairlane for black in alot of photo's! Could be the same sorta thing?

I really can't tell. I suppose the top one is Burgundy and the bottom one is Heritage Green? I still think Black would have looked damn good.

i am 100% sure they never released any ef or el blacks...

the reason is at the time they were having trouble with the darker colors and swirling through the paints

Im no expert on cars, obviously - but i have seen 3 nf/nl's in black, and have pics of 2 others - go figure.
I asked the dealer at the time (coffee ford in dande) what the go is and they said they were just as suprised to see it roll in in black as i was, they assured me it wasnt resprayed, altho their word honestly doesnt mean sh!t to me, and they knew i wasnt lookin at buying, just having a chat...
One of the NLs i seen was a concorde for sale in some car sales mag, didnt say resprayed altho it doesnt mean it wasnt.

I really dunno what the go is and i can say ive never seen any SWB ef/el in black.

Those pics above are dark blue, ive got them around here somewhere, same with the NL and DL brouchures, the DL LTD looks black tho, interesting.

NAh, thats a Heritage green as I got the same paint colour on my EL ( See Link to website Pics) I find at dusk and during the night my EL looks like it is different shade of Black. The EL & Ef's look tough enough in Heritage Green I reckon. Besides you woundn't have wanted them in black as the inside Cabin Temps go through the roof even with just the Heritage Green. Like 6o Degrees plus in the cabin on a summers day of 35 degrees out side

I've seen about 2 or 3 Black NL's..
and like daniel, one was a concorde... wouldn't suprise me if it was the same car only this one was actually being driven.

Yeah I'd have to agree Vic that EL is definitely in heritage green. There was a black NL for sale on carsales a while ago so I'm pretty sure they exist.

And based on the average age of someone purchasing an NL new I wouldnt think they would be into going straight out and gettting it resprayed, hehe
