yes they are illegal. a mate of mine had them in his falcon and got defected at penrith kk's. i asked a cop about neons and they said as long as it isnt similar to emergency vehicles, such as red, blue etc, then they are alrite. so i assume this would be the same as parking lights,

i have blue parkers and blue neons in side my car cops have seen my parkers and my neons light up my whole car inside.
My two neighbours are cops and said if u get a real a** hole he'll defect you but most will jst tell you to turn them off and get rid of them. but in sayin that one of my neighbours wants to impound my car for hoon driving WANKER!

The only time i put them on is in dusk when it gets a bit hard to see the dash.

I had mine in for 5 years also number plate lights never had a problem even with rego checks. Hazen gos to KK and on the way home got defected the only differance was those big red P plates.
It is ileagal in NSW but only if the police are bored.

you get fined 79 bucks and car defected and have to fix lights to correct colour and take it to rego man to tick off than to rego ofiice pay fine u be all good :-p
i was booked onced 4 lights but having slick tyres crack windscreen didnt matter :-p Mmmm u can sort of get away with colour lights if they are connectd to a switch which u can switch on and off with out being connected to lights. i was told that by police man who booked me

my mate who almost got defected coming back from Mallala last weekend has green or blue ones in an EF XR front and the cop didn't say anything bout them, only his tyres and p-plate through tinted rear window wasn't visible at night.
Could have been just a really nice cop too |

no probs sat all like many have said you cant see them when you have your headlights on i onlty use them at dusk which last for like an hour anyways so yea no probs man |

what about an entire car led conversion???
if all the colors are original there should be no problem right??? i can get bayonet led bulbs, festoon led bulbs, t5 wedge led and t10 wedge led.... are there any other types i need??

i used to have green LED's in the EA, got pulled over quite a few times while driving with the parkers and never got told to get rid of em...
