would I be putting my bonnet paintwork at risk by removing the bonnet blanket, it hangs down a bit and has already left black rub marks on my nicely painted manifold, and now I just put the freshly painted modded barbecue plate back on and its rubbing on it as well.

there's enough clearance to the bonnet, the blanket just hangs and rubs on the manifold and plate, I was just wondering if the heat under bonnet may cause the paint on the outside to bubble/discolor if the blanket is removed

GLi's did get it! Didn't get hte firewall one though - which seems stupid to me as I would of thought the firewall one would be more effective! I've removed mine and no issues! I removed mine as I was worried water getting in through the vents would soak it and it'd get heavy and fall to bits all over my engine bay.
