Don't really know if it is that realistic, just rough figures at the moment... Comments would be much appreciated...

Exhaust is about right price.
Lowered would be springs only not shortened shocks as well.

Rims probably only 17" at that price.

Its a good start.

Thanks... The rims I was looking were some ebay ones... $850 for 18" (no idea about price of tyres or fitting)

The lowering was a complete estimate, haven't looked up any of that stuff...

Btw, it's a '94 EF Fairmont (gunmetal grey, 160,000ks)

Tyres will be over $200 each for decent ones. So add another $1000 there.
The $500 for lowering will include springs and labour for them to do it. If your doing it yourself You can get springs new for about $250 - $300.

If you get 18"s and lower it you will also need your front guards rolled just in case it rubs.

You can get King Springs superlows for under 200 new. I got mine for $205 inc post, new from a shop. Good shortened shocks will cost you about 150bux each for the front, and about 100 each rear.

I'd expect to get a 2.5" high flow cat, extractors and exhaust for under $1000. My extractors + exhaust cost me 600 fitted, but the exhaust only cost 100 (2nd hand.).

Rims for $1000, nah not unless they're 2nd hand. 17" tyres new are about 150+, 18"s are 200+ etc. (thats if you want good tyres, not cheap s**t.)

You can pick up a set of 16"s with good tyres for about 500-700bux, or 17s with average tread for that price. If your lucky you might be able to pick up a set of 18s off ebay or somewhere with tread for $1000, but I wouldnt hold my breath on that one lol.

Okay so say you've spent
200 - ks superlows
600- shortened shocks + new bushes too
600- exhaust
600 - 2nd hand rims

youve got a good looking, nice sounding falcon with a bit more go than stock, for about $2000.

OR

if you dont want rims, you could get tinted windows and a cam instead. (what I'd do)

Fitting and wheel alignment you can often get free when you buy the tyres.
Unless your buying a Gucci set of wheels such as Simmons, etc. tyres are often more expensive than the wheels - if your buying decent tyres which you should be.

if your going to go with 18's and lowering it, you will need to get camber kits fitted (so it doesn't flog the tyres out) depending on what design/brand you get prices start at about $70 per side...

DECENT & SAFE 17' tyres $260-350 -and thats mates rates, not retail!!

DECENT & SAFE 18' tyres $350 MINIMUM -mates rates too!

what people fail to remember is that the difference between cheap and good tyres could mean the difference between a scare and an accident.

Also remember that cheap tyres don't last very long... probably 65-70% of the life of decent and safe tyres... so it might look like you're saving money now, but...

1. What's your life and your passenger's lives worth??
2. How long before you splash out on cheapies again??

Safe route, pay a lil bit extra, it'll hurt the back pocket, but it'll save you in the long run...

Munch out!

Mate don't listen to people who tell you that you have to pay $250+ for decent SAFE tyres. I've got no-namer MONONEW 245/40ZR's on my 18" wheels that I paid a meesley $120ea new for.

They handle better than my last POTENZA set I had and They've still got good tread on them after 5000km. And I give my car a flogging with a few smokies (legal) here and there. Not to mention my mate who owns the local Bob Janes said they looked like sweet tyres when I took it down to have them checked out.

All up I paid $1450 for my brand new BA Typhoon wheels in pre-AU offset with a full set of tyres fitted and balanced all posted to my door.
