Did a search but nothing came up,
Just wondering what all you guys opinions are of carBra's? I dont see many around but I do a s**t load of night & country driving and want to protect the front of my black XR from stone chips and dirty big bugs. Any1 had any dramas with them? Thanks fellas

I think they're great for that purpose.
I only use mine for inter-state driving.

i think they are ugly as hell but I can understand people with dark colours wanting them on, such as your black!

Ugly but very practical on long or night trips saves hours of work cleaning and touching up stone chips.

I agree, very ugly, not something I would want to leave on my car for day to day driving. However for long country trips I wish I had one.

If i get one it'll most probably have to be on all the time. Using my car for work, driving down dirt roads and smashing into elephant size bugs everyday is getting tiring.
Does dirt get in between the Bra and the body and scratch the paint? It gets washed 1 or 2 times a week.

have you got that clear plastic thing on the front of the bonnet. Its amazing how much stuff that can stop.

No I dont actually. I havent seen them on the AU Xr's before. Most of the bugs and stone chips are below my headlights though.

Although i dont have one, I reckon theyd be great. And they can make some cars look even meaner.
When i get a bodykit, I'm definately getting one to protect the front bar.

I reckon they are the most horrible disgusting ugly things on a car...
If you dont want your car chipped, dont drive it!!! Simple as that.

I use a Car Bra on country trips. Swear by it.
The one rule you need to follow is never put it on a dirty/dusty car.

Ive seen a few car bras colour matched to cars. Like the pioneer promo (cough splutter monaro) it was the red car with white strips and the car bra matched the paint. So if you could get it matched to your car that would be alright. If not then just use it for those long drives as stated before.

they are not too bad but as soon as it starts raining you got to take them off, or they will rub on your paint work. they got advantages but dissadvantages as well! I found with the car bra on my car ran a touch hotter and felt less powerful. but on the plus side saved a lot of cleaning bugs off my front end.
