You would need to drill 4 holes in your boot lid. It is held on by 4 nuts.

without having ever done one.

make a cardboard mock up of it. mark the holes on your boot lid with it.

measure it about 1000 times

drill once.

screw nuts on from inside

lol .. close... UglyBob and I did ours
from memory this is what we did

Hold the chrome strip roughly on your boot lid and where the holes need to be drilled put about 4 to 5 layers of masking tape (don't use anything that will remove paint) layer it so it is thick.

take off the black plastic which surrounds the chrome strip and place it on your boot lid. Use this to align it on both sides and get it straight. take your time :P use the number plate to help get it centered!

Once you have figured out where it will sit, mark it and then put the chrome strip back on and push the bolts into the tape you layers on before, they will leave indents into the tape where the holes need to go.

Drill through, remove the tape

Optional: put some white paint around the fresh metal in the drill holes

Put the strip and plastic back together and then mount your chrome strip and do the bolts up!

You'll get what I mean once you think about it, it has been a good year or so since we did them lol

A good tip here is to go to a card yard which has a fairmont and have a look how it is sitting, get an idea where to put yours!
