Hey Guys,
Just in the midst of fitting my body kit and fixing up the outside of my car and realised that my number plates look rather s**t now...

So I've got two questions...

1) Is it worth hunting around for custom plates? They don't seem all that expensive second hand.

2) If I come up with something I want, how much is the cost for new custom plates in S.A.? I will ring up S.A. transport but there's has to be people out there with custom plates who would know already.

EDIT: Changing poll and adding ideas so I don't lose track of them...

Rather than getting total custom plates like Piss On Holdens "MeanXR" which cost you every year, try getting a number latter combo which only sets you back once ($170). Something like my ute "XHUTE-0 or my car "BJSEM-1".
Maybe with the kit you ptu on something like hybrid1 maybe?

Yeh, a Galant I almost bought had plates STOCK4 which cost no extra anually. There was one on eBay for only $170 which was 3VOM which showed up as MOVE in your rear vision mirror but his ad. said that the plates had the anual $190 fee.

But, how would you check availability of a plate name without ringing up and asking everytime?!

Go to EZYREG.com.
Fill out the form to order new personalised plates.
You don't have to complete the form to the end just put in your details, then the plate you want. It will then tell you if that plate is allocated. 8-)

Custom numberplates are worth it if you have a nickname, or something witty.

I'm not keen of seeing 98 VT SS on a 98 vt ss commodore or the likes, but there are a few good ones getting about.

I had a set on my Valiant Panel van, it read DRIFTER.

I checked on those types of plates once before. Rather than having SA The Fesival State on them or any of the other crap they let you have I wanted the Port Power ones: $850! And they were still a standard plate! I'm a pretty keen Power supporter but I ain't $850 keen!
