I've been surfing the net lately checking out how all the drifters are stretching their tyres onto deep dish wheels.

It eliminates sidewall deformation which improves predictability and handling while drifting.

So, does anyone know who stocks wheels for a falcon that can acheive this look, where the wheel is further out from the guard. I think it'd look good on a low EL

any rim you can do that too :)

ive had 235s on 17x9" Weds Sports (no dish)
and ill be going 245 on my FR19s (once they arrive)

and thats offset that makes them stick out.. because an E series is already 6, it makes it hard to find offset rims that will do that
so you will have to go for wide rims that are 9" or wider.
or run spacers

just hard to find places that do it, tyrepower etc wont, but the "specialist" places will do it

So I can find rims at the specialist places without spacers?

After the many many stern warnings I've heard about spacers I'm not going to give them a try.

also mate rims that come out side the body of the car are illigal. but yeah if you want the streched look just buy thinner tyres then your rims. love the ke70 up the top is it yours or did you just get the pic off the net. im building mine atm.

Yeah mate grabbed it off the net.

My mate is getting one after the HSC is over and is gonna focus on the handling (as he wants to be a drifter) rather than performance (what performance lol 30rwkw).

Hmm maybe ill try get it just in line with the guard, I don't hoon around like an idiot anyway, only in the rain when no one is around at night.

I want to stretch the tyres though for more predictable handling and easier drifting when I do get a ghia with LSD.

Except you're going to have far less traction, however if you're drifting, then thats good!

I should also meantion it will be lowered to the utmost on Ultra's.

I want to resist scrubbing up front and back.

I like the wide stance cars with wide wheels have, like drag racers.

And yes I would expect you'd loose a bit of traction fitting a thinner than recommended tyre to a to a wide wheel. But if the tyre is wider than my current ones won't it still have more traction than the current tyres?

the only problem with doing the stretched tyres... is that is makes for a rough ride like low profile tyres and also makes your rims more prone to damage

and you will also have to find some one who will fit the tire because most tyre places wont fit them because its illegal but there is one place in sa that will they look after all the ke-70's and sprinters its called AJPS.

I'm planning on doing it myself, I've seen quite a few vids on youtube that show you how to do it.

It looks quite fun as it requires a flammable spray and a lighter

Thats a good point about the rim damage, but luckily I can park :D
