Personally I've never been a fan of EL fronts on EAs. The rounded front and the square back are too much of a mismatch.

In terms of doors, the fronts can be swapped over. The back have different quarter windows though. You don't need to change doors to fit EF/EL mirrors though. Just drill a couple of holes and they fit straight up to the EA doors. The EF/EL door handles are a direct swap too.

the el front can be fitted to an ea-ed but but the ea radiator support needs to be removed and replaced with an ef/el one..
imo the front of the ef/el looks like crap :P :P   unless its an xr front... 8-)

so rear ef el doors wont swap straight over to eb ed body?
i knew the fronts could so i just assumed the rears would..

Could always try but I'd say minimum you'd have to change the quarter window surround. The main difference is that EA-ED has a sharper kink at the back, while EF/EL has a softer curve.

I believe you can remove the outer quarter window surround and replace it with one from a boxcar. The door itself is the same. Wagon doors are different from sedan ones though.

As already mentioned, to fit the EF-EL front to an EA-ED you need to replace the complete radiator support panel. This is not a bolt in job. It needs to be welded in to the correct location.

I am also with troyman in that I prefer the boxcar front. The EL XR front is not bad, and the fairmont fronts are ok too.

Cheers
BenJ

I've put the el front on my EB, what they are saying is correct. not a bolt on job, fair bit of welding. I got told by an engineers that there wasn't a mod code for the change of front end so he said it won't need one.

As long as you know what work is involved, you can get stuck into it.

The tricky part is getting the front to flow nicely with the back.

Cheers
