Hey guys.
While on my search for a factory looking EA-ED Sprint body kit, I was talking to one of the Fibreglass guys (here in Melb) and he mentioned that he may be interested in reproducing the small front guard lip that was on the ED XR8 Sprint from Factory (if there was enough interest).
Given these are no longer available from Ford and nobody else makes them, they are very hard to find. These would (I assume) only fit onto a EA - ED Falcon and would only fit on a front guard where the lip has not be turned up to fit larger wheels.

Here are a few pics of what I am talking about.
A wide view.

Given they are hard to find, I would need to take them off my car for a mould to be made and then they would be made out of fibreglass.

So at this point I have no idea on price etc. Just want to gauge roughly how many would buy such an item.

Please feel free to add any comments..

Yep a factory item only on a ED Sprint.
If you looks closely on AU XR series Falcons that had 17" wheels fitted from factory. They also have a small piece of black plastick protruding from the leading edge of the front guard. Not a nice as these ED ones..

They are a weird thing.
Can't really say they are for looks, cause only people that own or know Sprints notice them lol.
Someone theorised they were to get around a legality of fitting 225 wide tires, but I dunno.
It's possible I guess.

I'd probably grab a pair if they weren't ridiculously priced.

Jared,
Yep that is exactly what they are for... To get around the wide tyres to make sure they fit under the guard. This is why the AU's had them when they got the 17" wheels option fitted at the factory. Dealers did not add them to the AU's if they were done from the dealer....

i still like them and yea jared i thought thats what they must have been for cos there is no real styling for it to be noticeable as part of a kit, and why would this be a defect its just like a flare to hide a wide tyre?? so imo legal isnt it, otherwise ford couldnt release
