Will both the EF and EL front bar skirts from the XR/Tickford bodykit fit the front bar of my EF GLi? And, anyone got a picture of the differences please?

not much difference mate...... and yeh they will both fit...... only difference is that the EL is slightly thicker

As far as front skirt goes you wont notice much difference (go the EL XR) the prices are even the same at most places
the big difference you notice is in the side skirts |

i tihnk the el tickford kit has the grill and the ef doesnt... but yee side skirts are bigest differant... the el has a "bigger" kit makes it look more aggressive

Yeah, that's on the front bar. But I'm just after the skirt that goes underneath it. So far from the pictures I've seen there's little to no difference between them... |

You will find the only difference between the ef and el front spoilers is that the side parts that go up to the wheel arches are larger (go higher up) than the ef style to meet with the el sideskirts on the otherside of the wheel arch.

Just hit me that you own a wagon no? If you have a wagon you will need wagon side skirts and whichever ef/el front bar to match - rear bars for wagons like side skirts have to be the wagon ones, not the ef/el xr sedan ones. Sorry if you already knew, just making sure.

Sorry if you already knew, just making sure. correct - i got quotes from a few places about side skirts etc for wagons - from the spoiler shop here in WA, i was looking at $400 for the skirts, plus $88 to get them modded to fit the wagons. rear bars were around the $700+ range from SSV i think... far too expensive for almost no difference...

Yeah, I got the wagon.
For the moment I'm just going to add the rear spoiler (or dust deflector) and the skirt/extension onto the front bar. I'll eventually work towards sideskirts, Tim sent me a picture a while ago of a maroon one with some on. Ok, so the two front skirts are basiclaly the same, and an EL one will fit an EF GLi right? They both are the same cept near the wheel archs when the EL one raises up more than the EF - is that right? Anyways, I'll wait for some more pictures from Tim... |

Its actually the other way i think, the ef one comes up on a sharper angle whereas the el one looks more gradual to the wheel arch.. personal pref. really - wait for pics tho!

Yeah, Tim just sent them. At the moment there's a second hand EF one avaliable, so since there's no difference and I havn't got a preference, I'll go for it if it's cheaper... Cheers for the troubles. When FordMods.com starts hosting again I'll put the pictures up for anyone else trying to figure out the difference! |
