Hi Guys,
I have been speaking with fibresports (the old AWC) to get them to make a ef el fibreglass bonnet with the ba bonnet bulge, they are looking at making them to suit the standard EF-EL and are also looking making a grill so they can fit the Fairmonts as well. We need ten people to sign and put a deposit down. This is a far better option then sticking a bulge onto your orignal bonnet and a fibre glass bonnets are over 20kgs lighter than a standard bonnet. The bonnets will be $650, deposit will have to be 50% So if your in put your name down on the list, and also add that your after the fairmont style if applicable. This has been on the fordforums website for a while these are the names we already have. 1. Choca = CONFIRMED 2. Overkill EF = CONFIRMED 3. mspw = CONFIRMED 4. lockz (fairmont) = CONFIRMED 5. B-1B 6. eldreamin 7. HULK EF (EF FAIRMONT) 8. leadfoot 9. 10. As you can see only 4 are confirmed, so there is plenty of room, and I am sure more than 10 will not be an issue! when you say looking at making a grille to suit the fairmont... will it be two parts?? can you give more info on this??

Aswell as the question above, is it possible to get them with the XR bonnet scoops? for an added cost of course. Im very tempted but would love to be able to stay with the EF XR scoop look at the same time.

they don't don't come painted no, but I am sure the guys at fibresports and paint it for you you'd just have to give them a call and give them your paint code and work out a price.
with the fairmonts I think it will be 2 bits that will be fitted together? unsure that would be anouther question to ask Wayne at fibresports. With the xr bonnet scopes, theres nothin to say that you can't fit them, I am sure it would be much easier on the fibreglass bonnet then the standard heavy metal one. let me know guys, and be sure to tell your friends!!

Ok, i had a EF Fairmont Bonnet converted with the Fibresports BA Bulge, and am very keen for a complet fibreglass one. Well done on getting them to do it, as i offered large dollars for it and they said so. So on that note, count me in for a Fairmont one. Who are where do i send the cash to. I will be back in Sydney in 11 days so am able to collect it anytime after that.

I'm not sure if this is going to be a one off thing, but remember you only have to pay 50% up front then the rest when the bonnet is ready, maybe that will help?? let me know Cheers Choca

Ok this is sweet we have ten names so this is well underway, TerroristGhia can you pm me your details, Name, email and phone number so that I can give it to wayne at fibresports, alternativley call fibresports and speak to wayne directly! I was jsut speaking to wayne and THIS IS NOT A ONCE OFF  so for those who aren't cashed up right now don't stress, and for those thinking that they will only make 10 also don't stress the more the better, unless every man and his dog ends up with one, then ill be sad  hahhahah

I posted this up months ago.
I'll be in the minute they have a carbon fibre version. Don't forget to purchase the different bonnet struts aswell - they're about an extra $80.00. |

They will be doing a carbon one with this, it just cost more I am thinking of getting the carbon one.
I will talk to Wayne and 100% confirm this, and get a price.

Funny when I e-mailed them re this about 2 years ago now they told me it would never happen as would have a 20 grand developing cost for them.
We considered a group buy but getting 30 odd people was a bit extreme. They also expressed lack of interest due to the EF being an aging model. 10 people at 700 each is only 7 grand and they're doing them... I wonder what changed. |

Funny when i had mine made, they said exactly the same thing, 20k to get it done, so i made one using steel and glass, but a one piece glass one will be gold, and i will have a spare as well.
