if they were to say for argument sake be copyrighted/patented then the guy selling on ebay would be in trouble because roman autotek built it years ago along with tickford..

He should be fine...dimensions are different and not an exact copy. So I don't see anyone being sued.

im sure im not infringeing any copyrights. as was said above my scoops are too different to the original (first) one, and the ebay one and also radek's, they would have been sued and not be able to make them.

another couple of pics,
a slightly smaller version, just a quicky 2 layer glass job, 50mm tall

thanks for the extra pics :D i like it looks very efective but i say one thing looks tall and would be cop bait big time.not sure but i think it would be a defect because of the raised flat surface???
any clues yet to a price though mate

Just on this does anyone have any information about bonnet scoop defects? Im a P plater and i like laying low, dont wanna give a cop a reason to pull me over i can do without the "we will inspect your car untill we find a defect". From what i know there are some such laws about scoops increasing risks to pedestrians?

I found this picture, i dont know which state it applies to or even how accurate it is, is anyone able to confirm this?

It would be a shame to only be able to use i when i go drags.

This is factory... Dont think you'd have any problem with either of yours height wise and as its on the sides of the bonnet...

Yeah these scoops are pretty tame compared to those hey, i just wanted to double check.

In real terms common sence says that if someone is hit by a 1.5 tonne car, or a 1.5 tonne car with a little scoop on the side there not going to be much difference. and they dont obstruct view at all. but you know what cops and traffic authorities can be like.

Cheers.

I am running Firefox. I can't see your pics. This is a shame; I have one of those ebay scoops and would much rather have a pair of well-made versions, especially one on the passenger side with connection to airbox. Please find a way to show your images so everyone can see them! Also I am very keen on your idea of a bobtail for the EF/EL...

GIMME GIMME GIMME!!!!
These look too good to wait for! I want one NOW!
Very good work once again...
I don't see any issue with any of the scoops as they shouldnt hinder visibility at all.
However, sucking small birds into the airbox is a different matter....

Cheers

Sam

Ah, pics I can see - thanks XRFairmont67 :)

They look great. I like how the front part of the scoop is concave rather than bulging out high like the ebay one.

How much for a pair with airbox mod to suit?

i think i have the mount setup sussed now,
they will bolt up as per original and use a cushion type spacer between the bonnet and the scoop. this will allow any fine tuning/adjustment up or down a few millimetres too as not every bonnet is exactly the same, and will be supplied with new nyloc nuts and washers.

pricing for the scoop i have worked out to be $70 each for Fordmods members
the ebay ones from QLD sell for around $60-$100 and dont include any mountings
the old radek one sold for $98 back when they were available

the airbox lid will be a month away and priced around $80, including foam to seal to the scoop/bonnet
i still need to see how they fit on the xr6/8 bonnet and work out the airbox lid

i do still have another stealth design coming aswell, prototype might be ready sunday...

a for sale thread should be started late next week
