Does anyone know if EL falcons had a factory option to add the XR style body kit? I know that on AU falcons this option was avaliable since you could buy a Forte with an XR style kit.

Thanks.

Not quite sure what you mean. You could buy an XR with or without the body kit, form Ford.
Cheers, Bob

The factory tickford body kit was only availible on the following EF / EL models: Fairmont, Fairmont Ghia, XR6, XR8

If the bodykit was fitted by tickford to a Fairmont or Fairmont Ghia it will have a tickford build plate under the bonnet with bodykit listed on the plate.

I've still got the original sales brochure for my car (goodness knows why they kept it but its cool now) and the ticky skirts were definatly available on the EF Gli and futura

The Kit is on my EL Futura. The problem is that my insurance company have put up the premium in the case of an accident by $1000. Basically if i can prove that it has come from the factory then hopefully they will not see it as aftermarket, and the excess will go back to normal. Presently it means that my excess would be around $1700.
