Brake light switch will be faulty, common problem. I don't recommend replacing it your self unless as you need to disconnect the brake peddle from the brake system with obvious concequences if you get it wrong.
Cheers

If the brake lights are not coming on then it's either your Stop Lamp / CC fuse or the brake light switch on top of the brake pedal has failed.
If it's the brake light switch then don't stress, you can buy aftermarket ones and fit it yourself.

You don't need to disconnect the pedal, the switch is very easy to replace, takes about 5mins.

i had the same problem with my 96 falcon, on your brake pedal you'll find a metal switch, it has a spring in it. give it a lubricate. you may need to take it out, see how you go... that worked for me
