I was up the coast a bit a couple weeks back, picking up some parts for my falcon. i stopped at the local HJ's for a bit of chew and spew, when i saw an ED XR8 cruise past slowly with what i SWEAR were EL XR6 rims but 17 or 18 inches! has anyone seen or heard of anything like this?

there were some ftr copies made in 17"

They were made by ANZ. 17's were the popular copy as 18" rubber back then was dearer than poison.
But yeah both 17's and 18's could be had. They no longer make them however.

Sweet, i'm not going crazy then! Do you know how much a second hand set of these usually goes for? knowing my luck they're probably rare as hens teeth these days!

flame me all you like but i personally think the 16" genuine ones s**t all over the copys, just something about them looks tacky.

i do agree with you about 16s but something about the 17s that make some cars look tougher
