hey ppl's
was just wanting to get some tips on engine bay detailing, i have tried spraying kero/degreaser/wax'n'grease remover etc etc around the bay to clean some oil and s*** up, now i want to make everything shinier and half new looking

i have ideas of taking of black piping and spraying with tyre shine but maybe that will just atract dust. im spraying my manifold wih engine enamel ford grey.

am i going the right way about this? or should i just rip my clevo out and respray and re wire everything and clean the block ?

i have never detailed an engine bay but love washing waxing glossing the exterior and cleaning my interior.

yer, any help with engine bay detailing would be great, where to start, what to do etc etc

i resprayed all the black stuff plus the coolant tank in gloss black and cleared it, and polished the rocker cover.

and before anyone says "oh that paint wont stand up to the heat, will just flake" its been on there for 6 months now and hasnt flaked at all.

Its quite easy to get the I6 bay looking good, as the motor is very minimalistic in stock form, EG alot of the wiring is out of sight, along with coolant pipes, etc.

For the V8 you could try re-running and extending all the wiring to run through the front guards to hide it all etc. Theres no end to it really, you could go on for days, i could anyhow! Relocating the uglys such as washer bottles, batterys, brake booster if your real keen.

heres 2 pics that show the extent you can go to. its the engine bay of my mates VL-T, obviously in the second picture you can see that theres been a plenum added and a high mount turbo manifold, but between the 2 pics you can see how much has been hidden, everything has been smoothed out.
