I was thinking of getting some LED lights for my exhaust pipe... just one question, are they legal? (And I don't mean legal like my tail lights are legal ;) )

Contrary to popular belief, no.

I've got an LED exhaust tip. it's red, and hooked up to my brake lights. I think it's amusing. Never had an issue as most state road rules permit red lighting on the rear of the vehicle.

Thanks mate. Really, the only reason I want them is to have a little fun, I don't *actually* think they make me better/stronger/tougher...

Not condoning putting any gay lights on any car but the law basically states (and I know this as a fact, just look in my gallery  ):
10 forward facing clear lights and clear only on the front (in SA there are no height regs on these lights, different in Vic an NSW)
Amber for indicators and clearance or side lights
Red on the rear

Any other colour lights (such as blue, green or purple) are illegal. If red lights are visible from the front of the car, these are illegal. The orange ones across the front of my ute are illegal (but hey haven't cops got better things to do than put every truck on the road OFF the road???

Hope this helps.
