I want to know about polish's and wax's, how they work and what makes them work to be able to choose the best ones for different cars and paints.

I can't seem to learn what to use where and i'm always making mistakes. I know what they are but nothing more. Who can teach me or direct me somewhere online that will tell me everything there is to know?
