My xr6 has locknuts on the mags, and of course the bloody car didn't come with the right socket.
Where can I get the socket for these locknuts guys? |

are they Ford rims? if so i think ford would have the tool.................. for a price of course lol

the are genuine "FTR"s... but anybody's guess if they are factory.

You could always get a cheap socket and hammer the thing on...
Kinda of a 'last resort' thing but

hmmm the ones i brought they said keep the packaging the recipt incase i lose the key for them because i would need to prove i got them not stole them to get the only replacment key... so looks like your cutting them off...

Take it to a tyre and suspension joint, surely they would have to deal with this on a regular basis.

i had this problem wit my mags aswell, i used a socket wrench wit the right size and i was able to get em off

as said above.. get a socket that is *just* to small and hit it on with a hammer, it might ruin the socket by te time u get them all off depending on the quality.
have you searched the entire car since you bought it? glove box, under boot carpet and in the wheel well?

yep, belt a socket on, worked for me when i couldnt get my ghey locking nuts off
belt it on hard the first time, u dont ussually get two chances, if that dont work, welding??

When i got my mags i relised i had lost my locknut key for my standard alloys, took it into the tyre joint to get the mags fitted and they had the things off in under 10secs. They just go a ruff socket size and used the rattle gun.
I have now just relised i dont have the locknut socket for my new locknuts on my mags, as i sold my old rims off with the bag of old nuts and it was in there

depends what brand and what number in that brand as to what key, it's not just a standard (or that would defeat the purpose). When you buy the lock nuts there's a number or corde of some sorts you require this and the brand to determine which key socket fits. There are some sockets made to multifit most lock nuts though (high chance of damaging the nuts but). As far as I know Ford didn't ever fit locknuts from factory.

ford lock nuts were an optin. however as twr7cx has said all the keys are different. im yet to come across 2 the same.
so if you want lock nuts yyou will more than likely have to smash the old ones off and buy a whole new set with a key and keep it in a safe place os just use standard nuts

most dealerships fit locknuts too all cars on the yard etc to prevent wheel theft
