Well in my 2 weeks off work for tooth extraction i decided to get out and put the spotties i had laying around to some good use, install them as drivin lights.
well the original spots i wanted was where the driving lights go but failing to find something to fit them too i went with the centre of the front bar.

my only question is WTF is that black tube, it was on the drivers side doing nothing, it just was placed in the hole on the chassis beside the battery and hung down.

it has me baffled.

Thanks goes to uglybob and his tech doco on how to remove the front bar safely and not loosing as many of those plastics tabs as i usually wood have.

that is an air duct to cool the battery, it draws air up and around it...

that looks good =D i saw some of the factory ones with the spotties on the side holes....looked a bit awkward? somewhere in between that big hole makes it look more proportional imo.

Yeah i wanted to have them in the side holes and i was going to dremel out the holes so they fit better but the spotties were still too big i would have had to cut out all of the side holes and then i'd still be left with no where to mount them too.

And as to that battery cooler cheers for the info but since i didn't see it actually doing anything but natural convection i decided to deem it worthless weight and have left it out, now that should add a few tenths to my E.T LMAO

P.S

1 week off for tooth but since i work in the mines in works out to 2 weeks including my time off.

i think you'll find it's a battery vent not a battery cooler. if the battery has a meltdown is has somewhere to vent the acid produced.

mayby it just so happens that it does both vent cool/fresh air to the batterey but when the battery s**t itself it has that plastic container it sits in and the neck to vent any acids that leak out...

doesnt explain why there is a hole in the battery container directly underneath the battery though.. wouldnt that half defeat the point of that overflow pipe??

yeah similar cept mine are huge 4" spotties and i'm pretty sure they have 110 wat beams in them but i'm not sure. one i'll swap them over for some 55's so they won't melt anything.
